Back to School Shopping at Marshalls and T.J. MAXX #MarshallsTJMaxx

IMG_3514

Who doesn’t love a good deal! I recently went to a Fall Preview of fab finds from Marshalls and T.J. Maxx at the awesome Hudson Hotel,  hosted by the fabulous Audrey McClelland (who knows MUCH more about fashion than I do). She showed us some cool fashions for fall, as well as some great accessories. Audrey told us that Back to School isn’t just about the kids, it’s about the family.  She recommended cool looks for the kids (as well as the parents too).  Take a look at what we saw! (Read More after the jump).

Holiday Shopping with TJ Maxx and Marshall’s: The Thrill of the Find

TJ-MaxxMarshalls-logo

I know tons of people that swear by TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. And I’m one of them. My mother has been shopping there since they opened near our house in Long Island, in the 80′s.  And my mother-in-law also loves to shop there. So when I was invited to TJ Maxx’s and Marshall’s Holiday Event in their Manhattan location, it was a no brainer. TJ Maxx and Marshall’s sells terrific off price goods — which are in season, just up to %60 less. It’s the “Thrill of the Find” and boy, can you score!  With 10,000 new items are delivered to the stores every week, there’s something for everyone (and their neighbor and sister….)

We had to work at this event — we were challenged to create a gift for a loved one. My partners and I had fun “creating” a present for a younger sister who just moved to the city. We filled a big black metal tub (which could be a great ice chest for a party) with a platter, a bowl, animal print martini glasses, wine charms and an wine stopper. Everything was so reasonably priced and we had a great time with our assignment.

Armed with a gift card afterwards, I went shopping with two of my kids at TJ Maxx.

My Shopping Haul:

1 Purple Fairy outfit for my daughter – $9.99
New Saucony sneakers for me  – $40

Melissa and Doug Easel Paper for the kids -  $5.99 (I’ve seen this for at least $8.99, plus it’s hard to find in the local stores to me).

Hello Kitty Purse (for my daughter )- $6.99

Silicone Green Spatula for the my husband and I- $3.99

Book — Baby Bear, Baby Bear by Bill Martin, Jr. & Eric Carle for the baby – $5.99 (small board book)

We had such fun and we know that TJ Maxx and Marshall’s is a great place to shop for gifts and clothes –  you’ll score some super deals! I’m going to be hitting my local Marshall’s over the holiday break – I can’t resist the LeSportsac bags I spied when we did our tour of the Manhattan store! Plus, I also saw some great iPhone and iPod Touch accessories, at a fraction of the cost that I’ve seen online.

Don’t forget to check out their interactive site shareacarol.com, where you can send free e-cards and carols can be sent to friends and family and see even more of what our stores are offering this season.

Disclosure: I was given a gift card and some sample products at the blogger event
