There are days that I’m constantly on the go, from working, to being with my kids, to exercising, I barely have time to slow down and make sure I eat something. So I turn to Premier Protein shakes. They are packed with 30g of delicious protein to give me the sustained energy I need. They are low in fat, with 160 calories, only 1g of sugar, and 24 vitamins and minerals. Right now, you can find Premier Protein shakes in Target stores for the first time ever. I picked up the Vanilla Flavor this past weekend (my favorite flavor).
They are perfect for breakfast on the go, an afternoon snack or post workout recovery, Premier Protein Shakes come in five rich and creamy flavors, including Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberries & Cream, Bananas & Cream and Caramel.
Note: there is milk in this — so if you are sensitive to dairy, you should be careful and see if you can handle it. I am lactose sensitive, but I am able to handle this just fine.
Because all anyone is talking about is the Unicorn Frappucino from Starbucks, I decided to make my own version using Premier Protein. As I’m looking to cut way down on the sugar, carbs, and fat, I didn’t think I wanted to try the real version, even though I am a happy Starbucks customer.
Healthier Unicorn Frappé Recipe:
1 Premier Protein Shake – Vanilla
1 cup of frozen mango pieces with several raspberries and blackberries
1/4 cup frozen raspberries and blackberries (strawberries can be substituted)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup freeze-dried berry blend
Whipped Cream (look for a low-fat one)
Add one Premier Protein shake to a blender.
Add mango and berries.
It will be a pink blend. Pour 1/2 of the blended mixture out and set aside.
Pour purple mixture into the bottom of your glass, but reserve a little bit on the bottom on your blender. Then make your blue liquid by adding the blueberries to the little bit of purple mixture.
To replicate the Unicorn colored sprinkles, I used freeze dried berries. I put them in a small plastic zipper bag and then used a cup to crush them.
This would have to work in the place of the colored sprinkles.
I added whipped cream and then sprinkled on the crushed freeze-dried fruit. Then I added a spoon and enjoyed my treat.
Right now Premier Protein is on Target’s Cartwheel App for 30% off until April 30.
